Quest for Profits is a YouTube channel that reads public companies the slow way: line by line, from their own SEC filings. Each film takes one company, finds the question its shareholders should be asking, and follows the numbers in the 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks and proxy statements until there's an answer worth giving.
This site holds the research behind every film. Each breakdown has its own page with the film, its chapters, the key numbers, the findings, the bull and the bear case, our read, and a link to every source we used, so you can check our work.
What we do
- Primary sources first. Numbers come from the company's filings with the SEC, its press releases and its earnings calls. Each figure on a research page links to the document it came from.
- Both endings. Every breakdown lays out what has to go right and what could go wrong. We show the scenarios; we don't promise either one.
- Labeled arithmetic. When a number is our own calculation or a forecast, we say so.
- Dated research. Each page shows the date the research was done. Companies file new reports every quarter, so figures age.
Who makes it
Quest for Profits is a faceless channel: the films are narrated and animated, with no on-camera host. The work is the research and the storytelling, not a personality.
What we're not
We're not financial advisors, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. The films and these pages are research and commentary for education and entertainment. Read the disclaimer before you rely on anything here, and read the original filings before making any decision.
